noun - fortune-teller, prognosticator, augur"An oracle deck can essentially be whatever the creator of the deck wants it to be — they pick how many cards are in it, what sorts of imagery it'll use, and what purpose it's supposed to serve. ORACLES is a choose-your-own-path theatrical experience re-imagined as a video journey.
Born of the desire to try new things, the show was originally conceived as a live in-person multi-room immersive performance. With the recent changes across the globe, the show format has had to change as well.
What's stayed the same is the cornerstone of oracle cards—cousins to tarot and other forms of divination. The general tagline is Select a Card, Seal your Fate. Members of the audience will start off with a welcome from the show's emcee oracle who will give instructions as applicable. The viewer will then be asked to "pick a card," thereafter visiting the room associated with that card. Each person has the opportunity to choose whichever card they like, thus setting them on their own individual path.
When they get to their chosen card's room, a vignette will be played out that represents the spirit of the card. At the end of the scene, the viewer will pick a next card and thus go to the next card's viewing room, and so on. After seven cards have been selected, the emcee oracle will send them off with some fortune cookie wisdom about their future.
